敬悼 創辦人高可達(益昇)前董事長

In memory of the late Mr. Kuhda Gau (Yih-Sheng), Founder and Former Chairman of the Ma-Tsu Temple USA

祈願 美國媽祖廟朝聖宮設宮建廟創辦人，前董事長高可達(益昇)老先生與媽祖同在、五福全歸。

We pray that the founder of the Ma-Tsu Temple of USA, the former chairman Mr. Kuhda Gau (Yih-sheng), may rest in peace with goddess Ma-Tsu, and may the five blessings be bestowed upon him.

1986年，高老先生與蟾功健身專家邢人友共同發起。其宗旨為奉迎 媽祖香火流傳美洲，提供僑胞精神的寄託與慰藉，及弘揚 媽祖濟世仁民之懿德，於台灣祖廟-北港朝天宮迎請分靈媽祖移駕舊金山。在奔波努力奮鬥下，八月十九日加州政府奉准設廟，訂名「美國媽祖廟朝聖宮」。

In 1986, Mr. Gau and Ren-you Xing, a Chan Gong (蟾功) health expert, jointly initiated the establishment of the temple. Its purpose is to welcome the worship of Ma-Tsu in the Americas, provide spiritual solace and comfort to overseas Chinese, and promote Ma-Tsu's virtues of saving the world and benefiting the people. They invited the division of the Ma-Tsu from the ancestral temple - Beigang Chao-Tian Temple in Taiwan - to be enshrined in San Francisco.

After much dedicated effort and persistently overcoming many challenges, on August 19th, the California government approved the establishment of the temple, naming it the "Ma-Tsu Temple of USA Chao-Sheng Kuag".
